This 1969 Triumph T150 Trident has been in the background of Angloclassics for a couple of years now. It’s one of those bikes that’s always had potential, but with other projects taking priority, it’s only recently that it’s started getting the proper attention it deserves.

Built in April ’69, it’s an early T150 with matching numbers and the special USA 'Beauty Kit' upgrade It came to us in complete but tired condition—a typical “needs everything” classic. Since then, the engine’s been fully rebuilt as this was needed and now mechanically, we’re in a good place.

What’s Been Done

The engine was the first big job. It was stripped right down and rebuilt from the bottom end up—new bearings, fresh top end, gearbox overhaul, the lot. Once that was back in the frame, it gave the project some much-needed momentum.

The bike is now a rolling chassis with the front end assembled and wheels fitted. It’s not finished, but it’s starting to look like a bike again—which always helps with motivation.

Where We’re At

Right now, we’re into the rear end. The wheel, shocks, and swingarm have been stripped out. The plan is to get new swingarm bushings installed in the next few days, then clean everything up and refit it with a new set of shocks. Seat trim work is underway too—nothing flashy, just getting things fitted properly and tightening up the look.

There’s a box of fasteners being prepped for zinc plating as well. It’s the kind of detail that might go unnoticed, but it makes a big difference when the whole bike comes together.

What’s Next

Once the rear’s back together, we’ll shift focus to the cosmetics—tank paint, badges, and general tidy-up. This one’s never been about building a showpiece. The aim is a clean, reliable rider that still respects the original character of the T150.

We’ll keep chipping away at it in between other jobs. Shouldn’t be too long before it’s ready to fire up and hit the road again.
